I had a loss this week! I am super stoked because it has taken me a long time to have one! Between my crappy thyroid and not being able to work out due to my ankle - I have been doing good holding it steady. But not this week! I have lost 1.5 lbs, which for me is great.
I was able to workout 5 days this week. My ankle held up pretty good, though I have definitely been protecting it some -but I am very happy it is slowly getting back to normal. I have been loving my EA Active 2 on my Wii! I finally got to bust it out this week. My only complaint is that the resistance band does not seem to be made for a 6 foot tall person. I love being able to watch my heart rate and the amount of calories I am burning - it makes me work harder.
We might be trying something new in our house, which will probably help me in the weightloss department - we are thinking about going gluten free. My husband has had major stomach problems for years. He also has a really crappy immune system. He hasn't been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, but I was thinking it might not hurt to try to eliminate gluten from his diet to see what happens. And being the awesome wife that I am, I will join him on his quest, to also see what happens :) So, if you are gluten free and love it,hate it, or have any suggestions and comments - please let me know! I am a whole wheat addict, so that is going to be the biggest change for me - but we shall see. It might not make a difference to Shawn and we might be back to our whole wheat loving selfs.
This week I am looking forward to working out. I plan on working out 5 days this week.
I also am going to make drinking plenty of water a huge priority. My hydration seems to fall to the wayside every so often and I have to remind myself to drink up.
I am really looking forward to the twitter party tonight! Can't wait to see which two of the Mamavation finalist will be the next two Mamavation Moms - they all are deserving.
Ohh wee. Gluten free. That is hardcore. You are a very loving wife. I'm interested to see if it helps!
ReplyDeleteErin, I am insanely happy for your loss, but You had it coming. I got myself a generic resistant band, because the one that come with a game that worked better for me. You know I love, so keep it coming
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you loss! Woo-hoo! And glad to hear your ankle is doing better. Isn't the Wii fabulous?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely have your hubby checked. Have you also looked at dairy? I am lactose intolerant and cutting out a lot of dairy culprits have made my tummy and life much happier. The good news is there are SO MANY gluten free options now. I belong to a "special diet" group of friends where we cook nut free, dairy free and gluten free to cover all the group's bases. There is some yummy stuff there.
Have a great week and keep it up!
WooHoo for the weight loss!
ReplyDeleteMy husband has had terrible stomach issues sending us to the ER many of times. Just a few years ago we were hanging out at the ER and they came back with diverticulitis (typically an old person issue). We cut out the spicy and green chilies (my hubby says the things with flavor), dairy, hard seed and nut items, and sadly popcorn...but he has been feeling awesome..unless he reverts to old habits and then he pays.
We haven't gone gluten free yet, but after seeing @aspiringmama's weight loss doing it we have considered it.
Hope something can ease the issues. Keep up the awesome work!
Congrats on your loss!!! No info on gluten free diet, although it does seem like it is easier to get gluten free or learn how to go gluten free now a days.
ReplyDeleteyou need to talk with @rachel_L and @aspiringmama about Gluten freen - I KNOW that they wil have some AMAZING advice and tips for you!
ReplyDeletecongrats on your loss and so glad to hear you are back on your feet... err... foot... (silly ankle humor) :) Good luck this week!
Congrats on the weight lost!
ReplyDeleteWe have been gluten free for over a year and I can tell you made a huge difference! Nobody is celiac in our house either, we tried 'cause we read that could help my son's autism and he did. He also had trouble keeping up the weight (which is odd and dangerous for a 6yo) and the diet worked for him. I didn't loose weight with the diet, but it cleared up a bunch of small discomforts that make my life easier now. Good luck to you and if you need any tip feel free to ask!
im so happy you are doing beter i know ankle injurys are bad i had one and it took a long tme before iwas beter, I stil get pains sometimes . great job on the loss and good luck next week
ReplyDeleteWow! Gluten free - yo'll have to let us all know how it goes. I've considered doing this - my daughters both suffer from really bad eczema and Ive heard it could be diet related. Congrats on the loss!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Going gluten free is hard, but it's amazing the symptoms it can help reduce and even eliminate! Hope your ankle gets better soon, and I know how you feel on the resistance bands. :)
ReplyDeleteI love soba noodles!! They are gluten free. They are actually made from buckwheat, which is in the carrot family. SOOO yummy.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the gluten free!
