Here we go, here we go, here we go again

Another year is on the way and like most folks I am hopefuly that this year holds a lot of great things for my friends and family. For me personally, I plan on striving to improve my health this year, so here I go, here I go, here I go again.
I have been tracking everything I eat on my iphone through the My Fitness Pal app. I love doing that! It keeps me motivated to eat foods that are healthy and good for me and not go crazy over board on anything. If you use My Fitness Pal, feel free to add me as a friend, my username is erinmcpatrick.
The workout has been two weeks and I am still limping on my sprained ankle. I talked to my sister about it yesterday, she is a physical therapist and a ton of help on so many workout related questions! Anyway - she said that I should allow at least 4 - 6 weeks to fully heal and until I can walk without pain I don't need to push it. She gave me some strength building exercises for my ankle, which I have started doing.
Weight, stayed the same this week. Ug. I hate that, I was down about 1.5 lbs earlier this week, and now back up. I guess at least I didn't gain.
This weeks plan is to continue eating clean/whole foods, which I have been doing probalby 80% of the time, drinking lots of water, and doing some strength exercises as I can.
I can't wait to get my ankle back to normal, so I can start my EAS Active 2 on my Wii!! I just got it for Christmas and I am so looking forward to it! I love using my Wii to work out from home. I also like DVDs. I am going to get back to the 30 day shred as soon as I can as well. Working out from home has become important since having my son - getting to the gym just wasn't happening for me. When I changed my work out routine to the house, things clicked again!

Looking forward to this weeks Mamavation Monday, hosted by Gamestop!

  1. I am so sorry about your ankle that stinks, but please do stay off of it till it is heal! I love your goals! I am with you on the water as well. know we are here for ya!

  2. That stinks about your ankle! I hurt mine a while back playing softball and had to stay off until it healed. It kind of puts a damper on exercising, doesn't it? I took it easy and just mostly walked for exercise. If it wasn't so cold I would suggest swimming as another good low-impact exercise. Good luck with your goals, I think you're doing great!

  3. Here you are, on the page 6? I thought you got lost?
Grrrr with you about your ankle. But strength exercise is better than nothing. Will talk to you soon and please take care of yourself

  4. Keep taking care of the ankle. The sooner you let it heal the better off you will be. Don't push it. Glad to hear you have a sister that can help you heal safely.

Glad to hear you are watching your food intake. That is one of the best things you can do right now. Great job!

  5. Hope that your ankle heals up fast for you, I can relate to ankle injuries. And knee and other injuries. But don't give up hope you'll be back in the grove before you know it. Good lukc

  6. Whatever you do, let it heal. I have known too many friends injure themselves far worse because they couldn't wait. You will be back at it before long.

So glad to hear you got a EA Sports Active. It rocks! Okay, honestly it hurts quite a bit, but in a good way. Seems like a big group of ladies either have it, or got one for Christmas, so when you are ready connect with the group and get sweating.

Have a fabulous week and Happy New Year. This is a great year for YOU!

  7. Oh, no! I hope your ankle heals quickly for you. It is so hard to wait out an injury, but healing and being healthy are the most important things you can do.

  8. Oh man, sprains are TOUGH to wait through, arent they? Sorry about that. But doing strength work is a great way to stay connected to exercising every day while that ankle heals. Good luck!

  9. it's hard to have to WAIT but listen to your body... you don't want to do more damage... and i LOVE my fitness pal for the iphone! Another app I love is the nike+ just the app is all you need and it keeps track of your runs :) once you are fully back on your feet again of course :)

Stay patient and keep making healthy food choices until more is possible. Maybe work on upper body strength?

Hang in there darlin' I know it's tough... my ankle just now feels better so I know how frustrated you must be.
